The problem with perspectives is that everyone has one - and rules about which perspective applies change on the fly, with very little warning. You might think that context, "doing the right thing" or other nebulous concepts are the ultimate arbiter of the correct perspective, but no. Odds are, the right perspective is usually the one belonging to the person currently breathing down your neck.
