"Footprints in the Sand" is a terribly overused motivational story that, in my opinion, isn't theologically sound. It just takes the "only you shall take emotional responsibility and nobody else has to change" story and adds a quasi-religious element to it in order to sound more authoritative. God isn't kidding around with that "love your enemies" thing.
