In most languages and cultures, there seems to be a common admonition along the lines of "I've had more [insert experience metaphor here] than you've had [insert meal here]" as a universal shutdown of anything the younger generation has to offer. But the Chinese might have the best expression of all, if only to explain why so many old folk have hypertension issues.
