Kangaroo rats are small members of the rodent family, with large heads, oversized hind feet, and long-ass tails used for balance. They live in the desert regions of the United States and Mexico. Hopping around much like a Kangaroo, they can cover up to 9 feet in length. That's twice as long as a NYC apartment! Amazingly, they've adapted to derive all the water they need from the seeds they eat.
