I used a lot of cinematic references in this episode of films that reminded me of this urban legend. La Llorona most likely comes from the true story of a Mexican woman,La Malinche who in the sixteenth century found herself to be the translator and consort of the Spanish conquistadors Hernan Cortès and was seen by history as one of Mexico’s greatest act of disloyalty. Special thanks to TjaydeN.
