I can now say without spoiling anyone that it was not the red string of fate. Full disclosure: after breaking up with a shitty person a decade ago, I did a digital drawing of the transfusion severing. I deleted it since, but the concept stuck around! While it’s impossible to fully let go of memories associated with a toxic person, making the choice to cut them out of my life did a world of good.
