Without creativity, i don't think scientists can be all that good... its such a weird stigma, that creative people are not scientifically inclined and vice versa. I used to play in an orchestra - many of the players went into scientific fields later in life and lots of them enjoyed drawing, too. And maths. i know, mastering an instrument is hard, repetetive work, but thats also true for drawing.
