Leiden is taken from the German language, which means suffering. Inside, it's really dark and the oxygen is thin, since the door is opened only when a criminal is imprisoned in there or when it's scheduled to be cleaned, which is once a year (done only when it's confirmed there’s no life in there). Leiden is equivalent to a death sentence.
