Honestly, their mom is the biggest darling in the world and Xantos is just awful :< Tho when it comes to personality Xantos is nothing like her. She and Raxer are very typical for shadow demons - hyper, loud and childish. Maybe to put Xantos in a bit better light - every shadow demon is mentally or physically disturbed [usually both] and his mental struggle is not feeling emotions or relations
