From what I've read, one of the biggest attractions of sporting events is the opportunity to bond with your fellow humans in a shared enjoyment of the spectacle. It's similar to movies, concerts and stage plays. It's less about the action and more about social bonding of like-minded people enjoying a spectacle. Or so I've heard. I just stay home, read stories, play games and make Web comics.
