To give some context, around the time I found the books, I had a... few rough patches growing, making my subcon. want wings to fly away from the situation I was facing. It had physically hurt my heart and I would cry about it cause I couldn't fly away. It was the first and only thing I had ever extremely wanted in my entire life, so to have it not be possible hurt my younger self's heart a lot.
