I mean, sure, if it worked we might actually use it more liberally to correct some our crappier behaviours... or some people would weaponise it for malicious ends, because that's what crappy humans do. But it really doesn't. And even when it does, it usually has lasting negative impacts on a lot of people who suffer because of it.
