I'm sure some of you are saying "Finally! The brick has returned!" I'm glad to know that people are invested in an inanimate object, Ha ha. This episode veers from the truth in order to demonstrate that (a) Pierre was perhaps striving to find a new theory and (b) he was more "nuttier" than Marie, more prone to "wild theories." Also, I needed a reason why the Curies would have neglected the yard.
