The thing that makes my style of drawing eyes distinct is my use of hatching. I aim for a semi-realistic look that's more on the realistic side, and there's nothing wrong with that. Don't feel pressured to follow the usual "manga" style with the big glossy eyes, experiment with it and find out how YOU like drawing them.
