Virtue signaling, to my knowledge, is when someone insincerely expresses a moral view to gain approval from others. It's the "insincere" part that gets me - I doubt these internet folk are verifying whether or not a "virtue signaler" genuinely holds their beliefs. With that in mind, decrying virtue signaling starts to look a lot more like decrying... expressing opinions on what's right and wrong?
