I’m not much for schadenfreude. When I dislike people, it’s mainly because they’re actively doing bad things - what I want most is for them to stop doing bad things. So when I see misfortune happen to them, it doesn’t really do much for me unless it stops them from actively doing the bad things. Otherwise, I just think, “OK, but they’re just gonna turn around and keep being an asshole anyway.”
