I was watching an episode of Seinfeld and the character Elaine was pretending to be a janitor in an apartment building because it was in the jurisdiction of deliver for a Chinese restaurant. There was one shot of her driving, face all dirty with a large hat with the cap flipped up, I loved that shot so much that that night I conceived of this short story.
