Fun Spider Facts: Not all spider silk is made the same. Spiders are able to make up to seven different kinds of silk, each with a specific purpose. Some of these include the silk for wrapping prey, making egg sacs, and making webs. There's even a non-sticky form of silk that spiders often use as a safety line to catch themselves should they fall.
