Laria Rohan spent years branded a failure because she couldn't shapeshift like everyone else. When she finally transforms into a white fox, she's captured by the feared Black Wolf shapeshifter, Zenox Crassium, who mistakes her for an ordinary fox. Unable to return to her human form, Laria spends months as his pet before escaping. Three years later, the crown arranges for Laria to meet a potential suitor, only for her to discover it's none other than Zenox himself.
