I don’t put things online unless I’ve already processed it. I’ve worked to understand society isn’t built for disabled people, and now I’ve processed how I was treated over my disability when I was younger and have that answer. The fact that the answer is so shitty is the problem: so I have nothing to do but be pissed off! Using that anger to advocate for myself so that I don’t look back and wish I did more! I’m a teenager with chronic joint pain, and yes, it’s shitty, but I’m not looking for pity, because having what you fundamentally exist as be pitied feels bad! I have an audience who cares about people deeply, so I’m spreading the message that, yes! Disabled people exist! But if you get sad when you see someone with a mobility aid, that doesn’t make you better than someone who feels uncomfortable! Show you care by noticing! Is your school, workplace, or grocery stores inaccessible for wheelchairs? That is prioritizing able bodied people over disabled people, point that shit out!
