Day 8: What got you into drawing & storytelling?

So as I’m sure is a shock to no one, I read a LOT of fantasy books growing up. I didn’t really want to be in my world. I had a hard time connecting with people and I felt out of place no matter where I was. Fantasy Books showed me a world where I felt ok. The person I talked to the most was my middle school librarian and I devoured everything she gave me to read until there was literally nothing left in the section I hadn’t read (it was a small librarian).

That’s when I started coming up with my own. I had always loved art so I would draw my characters and world. I loved sketching out the details and big moments. My note taking and sketching turned into attempts at novels and reading books on writing…

So what got me into this? Running out of books.
