Marlo is an unbelievably average wizard, who's extremely quiet and introverted his only good traits are his inevitable clumsiness and lack of talent for magic. Pax is the complete opposite he's the top student with high expectations as a wizard, incredible talent and in some ways a delinquent. They're completely different people with completely different backgrounds, however, opposites do attract.
