To me, this was the most glaringly obvious flaw in a movie full of them. It's the modern age of smartphones and messaging apps, and he still felt the need to leave a smartphone on his ex-boss's desk? What if he didn't know the password? What if there were thousands of photos on the phone and he didn't know which ones to use? I hate it when screenwriters don't understand the technology.
