There was a whole alternative storyline with the Grandma and Gabriel teaming up. All of the von Steins are a completely bonkers bunch of scientists - the addam's family version of scientists and they started going at each other's throats, with the Gabriel/grandma side being more on a supernatural level with hallucinations and monsters. I tried that idea in scribbled shorts, but never went with it.
