At birth, everyone is chosen to be the carrier, or the giver of the new generation. Both are needed, and both are equally distributed throughout the land they lead, over time they developed names and cultures surrounding each other. Eventually, they forgot that they all came from the same place, and started hating each other for lack of giver or carrier traits. The carriers were categorized as soft, hollow, and only were good for raising the young and weak, whilst the givers were hard, brain dead, and only cared about the fun parts. The gods of this realm were tired of it, so they decided to break the rules, test the carriers and the givers, give them something that will absolutely shatter their hubris, and so, they birthed the ash.
