While the rest of his world springs back to life after a grueling war, Lars shuns the celebrations. The greatest national hero, the shaman who is about to receive the Shepard’s Peace Laurels, has murdered Lars' parents. Since nobody believes the accusations from a brush teen, Lars must avenge his family on his own or he would never be able to reunite with their spirit.
