The Springdale Sanctuary is home and refuge for the unfortunate animals who lack the skill to be returned to the wild. Lulu, a hyrax and former illegal pet, is new to the Sanctuary. Her penmate is Muffin, a koala and former test animal with a hero complex. Together they face a tyrannical tortoise, malcontent monkeys, pesky patrons and the ever-present gaze of a watchful warden on a quest to find identity and a meaningful place in an artificial world designed for their protection.
