Pronin is a young Belarusian worker under a workday of 14 daily hours. The hard work and the lack of rest have made that he hates his wife and children, concluding that only men understand between them. The suicide of one of the workers in the factory awakens in pronin a class consciousness that makes him the leader of a revolution. However, it will be too late for his partners to realize that who are following is a sadistic, spiteful and bloodshot autocrat about his own interests.
