Everyone's experience with coming out to their parents is different... my mum & I struggled for years, there were many fights & counselling sessions, but through it I still felt like, in her own way, she wanted the best for me. We just disagreed on what 'best' is. I wanted to weave a little of that into Hyacinth's relationship with his dad. The dad is close-minded but he does love his son.
