You all say Kenneth needs to communicate better with Beth and tell her all about Hunters and vampires, but he can't, he's not allowed to, which really complicates things. One of my favorite tropes is "touch her/hurt her and you die!" and it's on full display here. He's sending a very stern warning to Lawrence to stay away from Beth, because he knows very well what vampires are capable of doing
