In 2031 the Earth is nearly destroyed by the extinction level event known as the "Convergence." Over a 162 hour period, the planet loses one fifth of its population and vast regions become uninhabitable. A week later, people that died in the Convergence, begin to reappear. These resurrected individuals called "Prodigals," return to life changed. Some are blessed with astounding abilities; others have been turned into horrible creatures that rampage across the land.
