Step into the mountains of imperial China and meet Baima, a poor village boy who can't seem to catch a break. Between caring for a sick friend and fighting haunting memories that won't let him sleep, Baima's barely holding it together. So when the strange and beautiful Yingyue follows him home and crawls into his bed, Baima doesn't complain -- at least Yingyue, somehow, makes the nightmares go away.
