Growing up with Asian parents, a lot of people assumed I was pressured to become a doctor, engineer, lawyer, etc. On the contrary, they were actually very supportive of me choosing any career I wanted. They just both believed in the part of the American Dream that suggested if you were good at something, people would pay you a lot of money to do it. So, "whatever you want, as long as you're rich."
