Pamela Martin, unwed and with no dowry, is sent off to be a maid for her father's childhood friend, Mr. Thom Harken. She is tasked with cleaning and managing the large estate called called Bridgewood Manor, alongside a grim housekeeper and kindly gardener. There, Pamela realizes that nothing is as it seems, and that the big house holds more than just dusty furniture and well-kept secrets.
