X, a type of deadly virus, is spreading rampantly. It quietly latches onto the chosen ones to manipulate the functioning of the world. Countless worlds thus deviate from their original timelines, either drift astray in the void or freeze permanently. From this, X Hunter was born. Tasked by the system, they slip into different worlds to absorb the virus through close physical contact with the fated ones. Story 1: single mom in a zombie apocalypse × mighty zombie slayer.
