Bette is struggling as she starts her sophomore year at a new school. Coupled with anxiety, lack of social skills, and familial problems, she's convinced her school year will be miserable and plans to live as invisibly as possible. However, her timid, anxious life is jumbled up when she encounters a supernatural boy who disdains humans.
