Dorothea Orlowski is a 16 year old girl who had been raised in a cult. Because of her albinism, she was shunned and refused contact. After they committed mass suicide, she ran away and with the foster care system, she emancipated herself and found a roommate, 18 year old Alfred Wright. She encounters struggles as she adjusts to her new life and ponders about what is worth believing.
