In a world divided, the four intelligent races live separate, bound to the lands allotted to them in the treaty of old. When the marine dwelling Mortif suddenly attack the humans of Hobask, they are forced inland; encroaching on the benevolent Ebiisu tribe. Desperate to find peace the people of Hobask offer a truce, a matrimonial joining of their eldest children. The people of Ebiisu warmly accept the proposal, naive to the lengths their new “allies” will go to to ensure their own survival.
