Vinh and Friends (V&F) is a semi-autobiographical slice-of-life webcomic series about Vinh Phạm, a second generation Vietnamese-American teenager who lives with his mother, father, and younger sister. According to Silv, she was inspired after reading Vietnamese graphic novels, such as "The Best We Could Do" (2017) by Thi Bui and "The Magic Fish" by Trung Le Nguyen.
