Laka is a mermaid tired of her boring life in her mermaid tribe. She saves a young cop from drowning (Josh Prince) and so she is compelled to make a pact with her cousin who will make her a "Pakeha" (the others, aka the human beings). On the other hand Josh, who is constantly experiencing nightmares about young maidens with fins finds a living mermaid...In his bathtub! and she grows legs?!? Magic, adventure, romance! And a LOT of cousin drama!
