A bang rings out into the forests of Washington in the dead of night as the state faces a new pathogen. Office clerk Lewis, though concerned, thinks nothing of it after hearing the context on the news. However, after coming into contact with the pathogen, the mystery of the sound begins to unravel and reveal more than what was originally presented, and a new life begins in a world that has long existed and had been heard of but was never truly seen.
