Kenzie grows up in an abusive household ruled by his controlling father Gabriel. With his six brothers he endures brutal training meant to turn them into obedient, powerful tools pushing them far beyond children's limits. As they age the punishments and expectations become more severe. At eight Kenzie starts a new school and meets Benji and their friendship becomes a turning point, helping Kenzie slowly move on from his past and more toward a future shaped by love, hope, and a family he chooses.
