Izzy, a clever girl from a broken home, has no closer companion than the monster under her bed, a faerie she has dubbed “Friend”. So, of course, an escape from her home to the magical world they come from, is the next logical step. But all is not well in Faerie, no matter how hard Friend tries to hide it from their fierce little girl. A mysterious lady is closing the doors between the worlds and stealing the magic of faeries who disobey her, and now, for some reason, she is after Izzy.
