One particular summer, Serene stumbles across a bakery. She becomes a part-time employee and grows into herself. (Author’s Note: This story encapsulates the zeitgeist of my own life as an eighteen-year-old who has just graduated from high school. In this period of liminality, I hope this comic serves as a medium that allows myself to look futureward. Years into the future, I want to be able to look back on this project and be reminded of how my eighteen-year-old self saw the world.)
