This comic tells the story of Li Yongshu, whose first love was lost during the Cultural Revolution. As a middle-class youth, she was separated from her lover—a boy who joined the military—due to political pressures beyond their control. Years later, they remain in contact. Though the pain has not vanished, it has softened. Through this story, the artist reflects on how feelings of helplessness, once overwhelming, can fade over time and quietly become part of one’s life
