In the dim alleys of old Chinatown, Singapore, a young boy was sent to apprentice under a revered craftsman who created exquisite Peranakan tiles. He swept floors, mixed pigments, and traced floral patterns, his hands trembling as he tried to match the master’s steady strokes. Slowly, he grew into the rhythm of the craft. But soon, the Japanese Occupation befell Singapore, and the boy must learn to face the challenges life brings, as well as keep his tradition and culture alive.
