Taking place in the 31st century, a certain demographic of people have developed superhuman abilities. These abilities are called 'elements' and it's wielders, 'Elementals'. The story follows a Haitian American Elemental, Legend L'amour, who is coming of age as an elemental in a prejudiced society. They and their peers are drafted into the military, being assigned to the experimental subdivision known as 'Squad Nine'.
