This story follows a recently deceased woman named Diane through the story of her afterlife. She meets the embodiment of death “The Gatherer”, the usher for souls. The Gatherer must convince Diane to Jump into this sea of black goop he calls “Peace” that every other soul has gone into and will go into, but she has some unfinished business to attend to; her son is still living and she wishes to stay awake until she can rest with her son.
