For the people of State 16, life is spent inside a walled city, governed by a mysterious AI company that tells them it's for their own good. There's no way out, except for The Cages--a massive, televised event in which robots and enhanced humans clash for the opportunity at recruitment into State 16's military and a chance to see beyond the walls.
