Synesthesia is a neurological trait where the senses interconnect. In Sylvie's case, everything she hears, smells, and the letters of the alphabet all have colours. The sound of a violin will cause red swirls to appear in her vision. It sounds like a fun quirk, but Sylvie doesn't see it that way. Although she loves her gift, she's very insecure about it.
